Adele “Petey” Gilfillan, age 82 a longtime resident of Wayne passed away on September 22, 2020. “Petey” grew up in Merion, the daughter of the late A. Edwin and Adele E. Gilfillan and graduated from the Baldwin School for Girls. She went on to receive a degree from the University of Wisconsin in Physical Education. After graduation, she taught Phys Ed and Math at the Shipley School for 27 years. She later worked at Santander (Main Line) Bank in Devon before she retired.
Petey was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn for more than 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, sports and playing bridge.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Gilfillan, III ( & his wife Catherine), a sister Sally McKay, niece; Lisa (Boris ) Collett and nephews; Michael (Lisa) Gilfillan, David McKay and Sandy (Cheryl) McKay. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and former students.
Petey was interred on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Martin Church Memorial Garden, 400 King of Prussia Road, Radnor PA 19087. She will be remembered by her community which loved her dearly in worship on November 6, 2021 at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
