William Henry Stevens, 98, ( 10/09/1923 - 10/20/2021), of Berwyn, PA, was born in Coaldale, PA to Evan and Eva Stevens. He was married to the love of his life, Laura M Stevens for 73 years until her death in 2019. He had two sisters, Ethel and Marian, and one brother, Evan.
Dr. Stevens is survived by this sister Ethel, two children, Fred Stevens (Ruth) of Thorndale, and Linda S. Kearse, of Springfield, VA, five grandchildren, Richard S Kearse, W Stevens Kearse ( Ashleigh), Lauren Stevens McGuinn, F William Stevens ( Cassie), Tucker Stevens, and one great grandson CJ Kearse.
Dr. Stevens entered the Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific during WWII on the USS St. Louis.
After serving his country, Dr. Stevens graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a DDS degree, and was a dentist in Berwyn, PA.
He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn, PA, for 67 years, a choir member for 56 years, and served as a member of the Session and as a deacon. He bowled in the Church League for many years. He believed in the Ten Commandments, and "helping others in any way that is fair and possible".
Dr. Stevens was a life long lover of hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. He loved to sing and was previously a member of a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Dr. Stevens made beautiful quilts for his family and friends, a skill he learned from his mother. He always had a joke to tell and loved being with his "buddies".
In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Presbyterian Church are welcomed.
